The Driving Tests

The driving tests
In order to acquire a full UK drivers licence, a driver must:
- apply for and hold a UK provisional drivers licence (issued by the DVLA)
- take and pass the DSA driving theory test
- take and pass the DSA practical driving test
As part of the practical driving test a candidate will be asked two vehicle safety check questions. Vehicle safety checks have always been a part of the recommended syllabus for learning to drive, this material can be found in 'driving - the essential skills' published by the DSA. A list of possible questions and the appropriate answers can be found by following the show me / tell me link on the right of this page.
Are you ready?
Visit the DSA on YouTube to watch a video on whether you are ready to take your practical driving test. You should always follow the advise of your driving instructor regarding taking a test, but should know yourself whether you are ready depending on how much input your instructor is giving you on your lessons.
For further information on either of the driving tests please follow the links. If you would like to speak to a driving instructor in person please call our office on 0113 257 1853 or contact us requesting a call back.
