The driving tests
In order to acquire a full UK drivers licence, a driver must:
- apply for and hold a UK provisional drivers licence (issued by the DVLA)
- take and pass the DSA driving theory test
- take and pass the DSA practical driving test
As part of the practical driving test a candidate will be asked two vehicle safety check questions. Vehicle safety checks have always been a part of the recommended syllabus for learning to drive, this material can be found in 'driving - the essential skills' published by the DSA. A list of possible questions and the appropriate answers can be found by following the show me / tell me link on the right of this page.
For further information on either of the driving tests please follow the links. If you would like to speak to a driving instructor in person please call our office on 0113 368 3323 or contact us requesting a call back.
