Pass Plus
The Pass Plus Driving Course

Pass Plus
Pass Plus is a training course for new drivers. It has been structured by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency) with the help of many insurance and driving instruction groups. Its aim is to advance your driving skills, give you greater confidence and make you a much safer driver. In many cases this course leads to a discount on insurance.
Although passing the driving test shows that you can drive unsupervised on the road, new drivers are more vulnerable than experienced road users. The Pass Plus course can help to reduce the risk of accidents by improving your driving over 6 modules:
- Town diving
- All-weather driving
- Out of town driving & rural roads
- Night driving
- Dual carriageways
- Motorways
This course will last for a minimum of 6 hours which can be done in one day or split up over a few lessons to suit your needs. Although there is no test at the end you must show your instructor that you:
- have improved your existing skills
- have acquired new skills and knowledge
- know how to anticipate, plan for and deal with hazards safely
- understand how to reduce the risk of having road accidents
- can maintain a courteous and considerate attitude towards other road users.
Once your instructor is confident you have shown these skills he / she will sign your Training Report Form with you and send the completed form to the DSA. The DSA will then send out your Pass Plus certificate. This shows you have completed the course and are entitled to an insurance discount (normally a 1 year no claims discount) from one of the companies taking part in the scheme.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any additional information.
